Terms of Use and Disclaimer

1. Nature of the Tool
The Tool is an open-source desktop client built with Tauri + Rust, with source code distributed under the MIT License. It includes no map tiles, imagery, models or vector data. All data comes from third-party services configured by users, including but not limited to Esri, Google, Bing, Tianditu, Amap, Baidu, Tencent, OpenStreetMap, Mapbox or self-hosted WMTS services.
The Tool provides protocol adaptation and file conversion only. It does not decrypt, crack or bypass any source's access controls or encryption.
2. User Responsibilities
Before downloading, processing or distributing data with the Tool, you must take responsibility for the following:
- Read and understand the source's terms of use, API quotas and service level agreements, and obtain lawful authorization;
- Follow the target server's
robots.txt, Referer restrictions, concurrency limits and rate quotas; - Use downloaded data only within authorized or fair-use scenarios, such as personal study, academic research or internal testing;
- Do not use data for commercial publication, redistribution, resale, commercial model training or other purposes beyond the original service terms;
- Follow applicable national and regional laws on surveying, geographic information and data security;
- For domestic map data, obtain lawful surveying qualifications or authorization from the data owner. Foreign data must comply with the relevant country's laws and cross-border data requirements.
Note: the official public OpenStreetMap standard tile service is primarily intended for normal interactive map viewing and is unsuitable for bulk or offline downloads. Prefer self-hosted tiles or providers that explicitly permit offline use. For details, see OSMF Tile Usage Policy. For other public third-party services, review the provider's terms and confirm authorization, attribution, caching and access-rate requirements before proceeding.
3. Copyright Ownership
Copyright, related rights and other intellectual property in all downloaded tiles, rasters, vectors, 3D models and metadata remain with their original providers. The developers and contributors claim no rights in this content, grant no authorization and provide no licensing guarantee.
4. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Tool for any of the following:
- Large-scale, systematic or continuous bulk scraping without the data owner's express authorization;
- Circumventing, cracking, forging or abusing access controls, paywalls, API credentials, signature checks or device fingerprints;
- Downloading, distributing or selling data involving state secrets, restricted military areas or sensitive geographic coordinates;
- Infringing another person's privacy, reputation, property or other lawful rights;
- Any purpose expressly prohibited by national laws or administrative regulations.
5. Limitation of Liability
The Tool is provided “AS IS”. Developers and contributors make no guarantee that the software is error-free, uninterrupted or continuously available, or that outputs meet a particular purpose's accuracy, completeness or timeliness requirements.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, developers and contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the Tool. Users bear responsibility for resulting legal disputes, administrative penalties, civil compensation or criminal proceedings.
6. Cooperation
If a data owner, regulator or judicial authority sends a notice or investigation request regarding misuse, the developer may cooperate without additional notice to users, including issuing security updates, modifying or disabling features, or providing copies of publicly available source code.
7. Changes and Termination
The developer may modify, suspend or terminate any feature or term at any time without prior notice. Changes take effect upon publication; continued use constitutes acceptance.
8. Anonymous Usage Statistics
GeoD sends anonymous usage statistics only after the user explicitly chooses “Agree and enable”. Statistics include a randomly generated anonymous installation ID, app version, operating system, app launches and use of selected feature entry points, to estimate active installations and version distribution and improve product quality.
Anonymous statistics exclude download URLs, file paths, filenames, searches, map coordinates, selected areas, tokens, API keys and downloaded data. Users can disable statistics or reset the anonymous ID in settings at any time. Statistics are not a core GeoD function.
The GeoD website records anonymous page views, installation instruction copies, installation links and download button clicks, and completion states for account sign-in, registration and browser imagery workflows. Imagery events record only coarse level and tile-count ranges, whether clipping is used and the operation entry point. They exclude emails, source URLs, download areas, clipping boundaries and imagery. Events are not sent when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is enabled.
9. Dispute Resolution
This statement is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes should first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If that fails, either party may bring proceedings before a competent people's court at the developer's habitual residence.
The Tool was created by an individual developer for technical learning and open-source sharing. If you own data or rights and believe the Tool or its use infringes your lawful interests, contact the developer through GitHub Issues or WeChat gpb230314 .
